ADULT LEAGUE REGISTRATION – WINTER 2025

The ABO is pleased to offer a 30 and over basketball league in Gatineau. It’s a great opportunity for adults who are passionate about basketball to stay in shape while having fun.

Rules

Please read the rules carefully.

Jersey Colors

Please always bring two jerseys: one white and one black. The team that does not have matching jerseys must wear the provided pinnies, without exception.

  1. Please make sure you are logged into the “Mon Club Sportif” app and mark your attendance or absence on the calendar before each game.
  2. Additionally, if you plan to be absent, please check with your team to find a substitute. There is also the Facebook group: “Adult Basketball League 30+.” You can post in this group to request a substitute. If that doesn’t work, please contact me.

Reminder of the Rules

  1. 2x 20-minute running time.
  2. One woman on the court at all times.
  3. 5-10 minutes for warm-up.
  4. Jump ball to start.
  5. 5-minute halftime, side change for baskets after halftime.
  6. No free throws.
  7. One basket equals 1 point.
  8. Backcourt violations are called (decided by majority vote among players).
  9. When a foul is called, possession changes, and play continues.
  10. If necessary, 2 time-outs are allowed.
  11. Please remove all jewelry before each game.
  12. For substitutions, give a hand tap to the person you’re switching with.
  13. When a foul occurs on a shot and the basket is good, the team fouled receives an additional point.
  14. Risk of 3 fouls (considered serious by the referee) may require the player to sit out for the remainder of that period.
  15. No vaping in the gym — risk of exclusion.
  16. Please leave the players bench for the teams currently playing.
  17. There will be a referee and a scorekeeper at each game. Any disrespect towards them will not be tolerated.
  18. Do not argue with the referee during the game. If there’s an issue, please speak to Lisa after the game.
  19. If you have questions for the referee or Lisa, please wait until halftime or after the game.
